>>> the other big story, traffic is just getting back to normal in vallejo where a deadly big rig crash shut down a busy highway at the height of the morning commute. the big rig plunged off an overpass and then burst into flames. that's when some good samaritans jumped into action. nbc bay area's monte francis is live in vallejo where he just got an update from the highway patrol. monte, what can you tell us? >> reporter: good morning. westbound highway 37 reopened about 90 minutes and hazmat crews and firefighters are still here on the scene dealing with the aftermath of this crash. but take a look at some dramatic video that was taken just minutes after this crash occurred. you can see the big rig burst into flames after plunging from an on-ramp that connects the two highways. the big rig and a pick-up truck were involved in a xligs, sending the big rig over the guardrail. the big rig plunged to the ground. two witnesses and an off-duty paramedic were driving by and rushed to the big rig driver's aid. they were able to pull him from the burning big ri and one of the witnesses e

in vallejo. this is where police found the body, she was actually 90 years old. that is after her 70-year-old son dennis convicted of double murder and rape back in the 'on 60s. he called police midday yesterday and said he had killed his mother. police responded to the how long on marshfield and found her remains on the property. he was paroled from soledad in 1990 he was sentenced to death for the murder of two pinole girls in 1966 but that was overturned in the 1970s. vallejo police knew he was in the knuichbt because he was required to check in with them as a sex parolee. >> he was cooperative with the officers he spoke with initially talking with communication supervisor. it took a lot for her to get it out of her. >> i'm shocked, but i'm not. it really took me back. i had trouble getting my breath. i knew something was going to happen. he such an evil person. i knew it. >> reporter: now, that was a family member of one of the girls that was killed in 1966. that woman did not want her name used but she is a family member of 15-year-old carey. she did not want to be identified. it was

patrick-st vincent high school in vallejo where the alledged hazing took place during football season this past fall. a spokesperson for the school says there were multiple incidents between members of the varsity and junior varsity players inside the locker room during unsupervised practices. the school got wind of it after the head coach overheard a student complain of the alleged abuse in mid december. he in turn reported what he heard to school officials who put the entire coaching staff on paid leave and suspended the alleged perpertrators of the abuse. after they concluded their investigation they decided to expell five players.for alledgedly abusing and bullying six underclassmen.and then contacted the vallejo police. the school would not go into detail about what actually happened during the hazing. the lieutant in charge of investigations for the department says they are waiting to hear from the kids involved before they launch an investigation.and so far no one has come forward so it's unclear if any criminal charges will come out of this. here at the school.four assistant c

and we are learning about hazing allegations at a high school in vallejo. here is more at st. vincent. >> reporter: police are learning to talk to students and officials at st. patrick's st. vincent's as well as the archdiocese. and they just learned about it and that it involved an attack on a student and they fired the coach five weeks after he reported the sexual hazing allegations to her. he worked in the saratoga schools and he is a former new york police officer who played college football and started as a coach and teacher here last august. some football players admitted to him in the locker room varsity players had removed their closing and held the other players as they assaulted him. reported five students were also expelled as a result of this and we know that the coach's office is inside the locker room and he would have a pretty good view of what was happening so the question is, did he leave early thursday's what time of day did this actually happen, was it during school, after school, these are times we'll see if the administration bears any responsibility for what happ
